Hi, I'm Mick and by now you've probably realised that I'm not from the Basque Country or Spain. To all the locals here, I look totally foreign and my tongue still feels as heavy as lead when it comes to rolling my rrr's but I love the lifestyle, the people, and of course the food. In truth, the reason I ended up here is that I met my incredible wife whilst backpacking in the Amazon jungle in 2006, and along the way we decided to create a life together in her hometown of Getxo.
Growing up as a kid in suburban Sydney, Australia, photography didn't really play a huge role in my life because, for me, it was all about sport. However, the older I grew, and the more I traveled, the more I started taking photography seriously. I would read countless photography magazines on my journies into work and I even considered switching careers to becoming a conflict photojournalist like that of my favourite photographer, Sir Don McCullin. And believe it or not, that's how I found wedding photography.
Wedding photography for me is all about having fun. I'm always be close to the action but I'll never interfere. Rather you’ll notice that I’m more relaxed and looking for whatever big, small, loud, quiet, and fun moments that simply occur throughout. Regardless of how intimate, grand, or chic each wedding may be, all weddings share one thing in common… All of the most important people from your life are altogether in the one place, so just breathe it all in and enjoy every second of it. If you do, I’ll always have a million things to photograph.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little more and if you've come this far already, I hope we can catch up for a coffee or a video call soon. Un abrazo! Mick
